The sediment cores were collected in June, 2006 in Jiaozhou Bay and have been dated with the 210Pb method. The results show that there are several kinds of 210Pb distribution patterns within the vertical profile, i.e. the two-section, the three-section, the unusual parallel-section and the inverse. Based on the CIC model of 210Pb ,137Cs chronology and bathymetry comparison by the historical sea charts of Jiaozhou Bay, the modern sedimentation rate and the flux ranges are estunated from 1.49mm/a to 24.96mm/a and from 0.17g/(cm2•a) to 2.62 g/(cm2•a), respectively. The magnitude of deposition rates is 100 in most of the study area except for the end channel of Cangkou . The main channels show a slight sedimentation or even partially erosion, which reveals that sedimentary environment of Jiaozhou Bay is relatively stable during the past 100 years. |
